Manson Joins O&M Social Practice as MD EAME

In London, WPP-owned ad agency Ogilvy & Mather (O&M) has appointed Marshall Manson as Managing Director, EAME of its Social@Ogilvy practice, which taps the agency's network of social media strategists for solutions such as online listening and conversation impact analysis.

Marshall MansonLaunched early last year, the practice offers access to more than 550 social media experts and a further 400 digital specialists from across the Ogilvy group of companies. This team also offers O&M's measurement model, Conversation Impact, which helps marketers evaluate the impact of social media across different types of advertising and communications, and measures the impact of WOM (word-of-mouth) on influencers and consumers.

Manson (pictured) joins from PR giant Edelman, where he worked for nearly eight years, and latterly served as MD, Digital, EMEA in charge of the digital team and operations across the region. He originally joined the firm in the US as VP, Digital Public Affairs, before moving to London in 2008 as Director of Digital Strategy. Earlier in his career, Manson worked for thinktank the Center for Individual Freedom, and public affairs and political consulting firm The Sterling Corporation.

In his new role, commencing in October, he will oversee the Europe, Africa, and Middle Eastern region, and report to Stuart Smith, CEO of Ogilvy PR EAME.
