October 24 2014

Australian-based custom research firm The Leading Edge (TLE) has appointed Katharine Milner as Director of Qualitative Insights and Florencia Tarelli as Director of Strategy. Separately, Head of Brand Strategy Chrissy Blackburn left the company last month.

Katharine Milner and Florencia TarelliLaunched in 1990, TLE now has offices, in Sydney, New York and London, from where it offers primary research analytics and trends/forecasting services, as well as innovation and NPD, insight and brand development, and consumer-driven strategy.

Milner joins from consumer research and trends agency Iconoculture, having previously been a director at High Definition Insights. Earlier, she worked for Wrigley as Consumer Insights Manager, and then as Strategy and Innovation Manager; for Kellogg Company as a Senior Market Research Manager; and for Nielsen as a Marketing Manager.

MD Lee Naylor comments: 'It's great to welcome someone of Katharine's calibre to our talented team. She brings a wealth of experience from both her agency and client background that we know our clients will appreciate enormously.'

Tarelli worked most recently at Landor Associates as Strategy Director, after spells as Senior Strategist at FutureBrand, Consumer Planner at Diageo, and Marketing Information Executive at British American Tobacco. Earlier, she was an Insight Executive at PepsiCo and Market Development Analyst at Coca-Cola, having begun her career as a Commercial Analyst at HSBC.

Chairman Nigel Marsh adds: 'The agency has been quietly building over the year and having someone of Florencia's calibre join the team is only going to help add to the momentum.'

Blackburn has left the company after two years to go freelance.
