Marketing technology and analytics specialist David Raab has launched a new trade association called the Customer Data Platform Institute. The association aims to educate companies about the solutions available for building a single view of customers, identifying behavior and tracking interaction across channels.
Raab (pictured) runs his own consultancy Raab Associates, which specialized in marketing analytics and marketing technology assessment. He has set up the institute to help educate marketers and marketing technologists about customer data platforms (CDPs). As well as offering members a range of education materials, such as a library of white papers, surveys, evaluation guides, case studies, and product information; the institute will provide industry news and opinion, and a public forum.
The Institute is sponsored by several CDP vendors, such as predictive marketing firm AgilOne, customer analytics specialist BlueVenn, and customer data management platform RedPoint Global, and is managed by Raab Associates assisted by an Advisory Board comprising marketing practitioners. According to Raab: 'The growing need for complete, accessible customer data has fueled the rise of CDP systems. Nearly two dozen vendors fit the definition but awareness of CDPs is still very low. The institute will educate marketers about CDP capabilities and help them take full advantage of these powerful new systems'.
