In the US, data science company Alteryx has acquired business intelligence (BI) solutions provider ClearStory Data for an undisclosed sum.Founded by Sharmila Mulligan (pictured) in 2011, Menlo Park, California-based ClearStory Data uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning automation to help enterprises uncover insights from their disparate sets of data. The firm also uses Apache Spark-based big data processing, to deliver insights from large and complex data sources.
Alteryx says it identified synergies between the two companies and with this acquisition, is gaining a 'talented team and compelling technology'. Dean Stoecker (pictured), co-founder and CEO of Alteryx, adds: 'We have been anticipating consolidation in the market and when we identified the great talent and compelling technology of ClearStory, we embraced the opportunity. We believe the combination of the ClearStory Data and Alteryx teams will help us accelerate through the next wave of innovation in the data science and analytics market.'
