Kin + Carta Creates Chief Connective Officer Role

UK marketing services group Kin + Carta, which was previously known as St Ives, has appointed Charlie Wrench in a new role, 'Chief Connective Officer'.

Charlie WrenchKin + Carta was renamed last October, following the disposal of its legacy printing and publishing businesses to focus on digital services. Businesses in the group include consumer and MR consultancy Incite, retail and consumer specialist Pragma, and digital marketing agency Realise. Last year, the group merged three of its businesses - Response One, Amaze One and Occam - to create a new agency combining data science and marketing technology, with a focus on the intelligent application of data.

Wrench (pictured) joins with nearly four decades of experience. Most recently, he was EVP and interim CEO for marcoms group Engine in Asia, having previously worked for the group as interim Management Team Chair and Partner for its insight arm ORC International. Earlier, he was CEO of Landor Associates, overseeing 22 offices and 900 employees, and he held senior roles at global ad agencies Young & Rubicam and Lowe Howard-Spink.

In his new role, Wrench will work with the heads of Kin + Carta's seven businesses, reporting directly to CEO J Schwan, who comments: 'Charlie combines a deep level of expertise across brand, communications, emerging technology and strategy, with a proven track record of bringing the best out of multiple consultancies. His addition is well timed as we seek to accelerate Kin + Carta's continued growth'.
