Launch of 'Today's SurveyMonkey'

September 1 2026

SurveyMonkey has 'reimagined' its platform with the aim of easing client organizations' access to insights from real people. The new and major release makes use of AI to smooth and speed up processes while keeping human feedback as the source of its data.

CEO Eric JohnsonThe firm notes that 'as businesses increasingly turn to AI for faster answers, there is a growing risk of making consequential decisions without ever hearing from the real humans those decisions affect.' SurveyMonkey's own research has found that while 83% of business owners say customer feedback is useful in driving business decisions, only 54% collect it 'more than once or twice a year,' due to a lack of time and process.

The new upgrade, billed as 'Today's SurveyMonkey', learns about a user to offer a personalized starting point based on their goals and past work, allowing it to start a survey or program of surveys with 'a relevant recommendation rather than a blank page.' A new conversational AI survey-building experience lets users describe what they want in plain language, and SurveyMonkey AI then adjusts questions, applies logic, and refines surveys in real time. As soon as results start coming in, the tool analyzes them and surfaces the most important findings, in plain language.

The company already integrates with Claude and ChatGPT, and plans to add Gemini soon. For employee experience work, a new human resource information system integration (HRIS) will shortly connect SurveyMonkey with Workday and BambooHR, allowing HR teams to use their integration of choice to build audiences from real-time employee data, enrich responses and analyze results in the context of their organization.

The company is also in the process of overhauling the Benchmarks experience - by the end of the year the platform should automatically compare results against similar organizations using more than 27 years of SurveyMonkey's proprietary feedback data. The firm says a growing company 'will then be able to know whether its NPS score is strong for its industry, or whether its organizational health score is where it should be, without hiring a research firm to find out.'

Finally, a redesigned product experience promises a cleaner interface, simplified navigation, and a refreshed visual identity.

CEO Eric Johnson (pictured) states: 'AI is changing how work gets done, but businesses shouldn't have to choose between moving fast and understanding the people they serve. The best decisions come from built-in listening. Today's SurveyMonkey shows what AI looks like when it's designed to keep real human feedback at the center, remove busywork, and help every team make confident decisions.'

The updates begin rolling out this month and will continue throughout 2026. The firm is online at www.surveymonkey.com .
