Nielsen Rolls Out Total US Pet Retail Service

Nielsen is to provide what it calls the industry's first holistic view of the US pet retail market.

Jeanne Danubio'Nielsen Total US Pet Retail' offers a view into more than 10,000 speciality stores alongside the company's extended 'All Outlets Combined' measure. This provides a combined view of pet speciality and non-speciality outlets, regional chains, independent stores, military commissary, grocery and mass merchandisers across the US.

The launch adds to an existing portfolio of services comprising pet retailer key account data, pet eCommerce measurement and the Nielsen Homescan Panel's coverage of the pet vertical. Companies can use the data to track sales, share performance and movements of trends within the pet food and treats, pet litter, and parasiticides categories.
