Ironwood Insights Acquires Discovery Research Group

In the US, qual and quant provider Ironwood Insights Group has acquired data collection company Discovery Research Group (DRG) from Morgan Investors, which is also the holding group for 3Q Global and Quick Test/Heakin. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Brad LarsonSaratoga Springs, UT-based DRG provides a range of data collection methodologies for market research, healthcare follow up, customer loyalty, tracking and polling studies. The firm offers both inbound and outbound capabilities using CATI, CAWI at its call centers, online, IVR, social media research, in-person for onsite, in-store, event interviewing and mall intercepts; along with in-depth interviews by phone or in-person. In addition, the company can help with sample procurement, project management, text analytics, data processing, and data integration services.

As part of the deal, DRG will continue to operate under its current name until the first of the year, when it will be brought under the Ironwood umbrella. This includes data collection and research services business Information Alliance, which merged with Ironwood last year.

Commenting on the deal, Ironwood Insights Group founder Brad Larson (pictured) said: 'Our combined capabilities now make us one of the largest data collection companies in the US, with operations in five states - Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Texas. More importantly, the Discovery team of experienced professionals will stay in place, meaning all DRG clients will continue to receive the world-class service they've become accustomed to.'
