Bazaarvoice Names New CEO

In the US, word-of-mouth specialist Bazaarvoice has appointed Keith Nealon as Chief Executive Officer. The role was vacated by Gene Austin three months after the company was acquired by Marlin Equity Partners in 2018.

Texas-based Bazaarvoice, which has other offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, offers technology, analytics and expertise to help companies enhance the online shopping experience with related social media applications. Each month in the Bazaarvoice Network, more than a billion consumers create, view, and share user generated content including reviews, questions and answers, and social media photos across more than 6,200 global brand and retailer web sites. Last year, the firm acquired New York-based product discovery and reviews platform Influenster, which has nearly six million community members worldwide.

Since Austin's departure, the CEO role has been held by Joe Davis of Marlin Equity Partners, who will now return to his original position as Operating Executive. Nealon (pictured) joins after serving as Chairman and CEO of financial technology platform Vyze, which was acquired by Mastercard last April. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at both private and public technology companies, including SaaS firm Adaptive Insights; marketing automation platform developer Eloqua; telecoms vendor ShoreTel; and hosting, managed applications and services business NaviSite.
