February 25 2020

London-based 'customer understanding' platform Chattermill has raised £6.2m in a Series A round of funding, which it will use to expand its offices in London and Berlin. New hires will include engineers, data scientists, enterprise sales and marketing experts.

Mikhail DubovFounded in 2015 by software engineer Mikhail Dubov and former TNS researcher / MM-Eye data analyst Dmitry Isupov, Chattermill uses machine learning to aggregate data from surveys, reviews, support tickets and social media, and then mine customer feedback for meaning and sentiment. In 2017, the firm closed a £600k seed round. The new funding has been led by DN Capital, with participation from Ventech, btov Partners and Silicon Valley Bank, as well as several angel investors.

CEO Dubov (pictured) comments: 'Our mission is to help every business become truly customer-focused. Every decision made at every level of the organisation should be taken with the customer in mind if teams want to win in today's experience economy. This isn't limited to customer experience departments, but should inform everyone across product, operations, marketing, and the leadership team'.
