Searchspring Buys Personalization Specialist 4-Tell

In the US, eCommerce personalization and analytics specialist Searchspring has acquired 4-Tell, the company behind AI-driven personalization platform Smart Commerce. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Ken Levy and Neil LofgrenLaunched in 2009 by Ken Levy and Neil Lofgren (pictured), 4-Tell's proprietary Smart Commerce platform uses product performance data for timely and targeted advertising, and personalization of experiences. Following the deal, Searchspring says its own recommendation engine will enable merchandizers to deliver more personalized shopping experiences in less time.

CEO Peter Messana comments: 'We are excited to welcome the 4-Tell team to Searchspring. The firm's technology allows us to speed up the delivery of enhanced product recommendations while enabling personalization across our entire suite of features. We gained great technology, the team that built it, and a customer base that can now benefit from our advanced search'.
