ESOMAR Replaces Congress 2020 with Insights Festival

August 11 2020

Data and insight industry association ESOMAR has launched the Insights Festival 2020, taking place online from 14th to 17th September. The event replaces the previously planned ESOMAR Congress 2020, due to take place in Toronto in October, and now postponed to 2021 because of the pandemic.

ESOMAR Replaces Congress 2020 with Insights FestivalAcross the four days, peer reviewed data and insight presentations will be given by speakers from companies such as Unilever, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, LinkedIn, ESPN, Bacardi, Nielsen, GSK, Insites Consulting and Ipsos; and broadcast on a streaming platform that will be free for members and cost a nominal amount for non-members. Broadcast times on each day will be changed in order to ensure as many as possible in the global community can access the content live.

Parallel to the main stage, there will be a 'fringe' event that will comprise roundtables, debates and alternative sessions powered and created by the global data and insights community, with some sessions being broadcast live and for free across multiple social media platforms. All the sessions will also be available to view on-demand after the event, for those who are unable to watch it live.

ESOMAR Director General Finn Raben comments: 'Although 2020 has been one of the most challenging periods that many of us can remember, as an industry and also on a personal level, I'm humbled by the wonderful support of our sector, and delighted that ESOMAR has been a hub for the worldwide research family to discuss problems, challenges and potential solutions in these last few months. We will continue those efforts with the Insights Festival 2020, and look forward to registering as wide an audience as possible to share the excellent practices that will be presented by our friends, peers and colleagues'.
