Merkle Promotes Taverner to Lead New EMEA Tech Arm

Marketing and CX management company Merkle has promoted Sam Taverner to lead its newly created EMEA Technology Services division. Ben Gott takes over Taverner's previous position as SVP Marketing Solutions Europe.

Sam TavernerOwned by marcoms group dentsu, Merkle uses technology and analytics to understand consumers and drive people-based marketing strategies. The new division brings together dentsu's CRM (customer relationship management), commerce and content capabilities under Taverner (pictured).

Taverner joined Merkle in 2017 after the firm acquired CRM, marketing and decision management solutions provider Comet Global Consulting, where he worked as UK MD. In the newly created role of EVP, Technology Services EMEA, he will be responsible for establishing a set of services using Merkle's global nearshore and offshore delivery centres. Gott takes over the leadership of Merkle's Marketing Solutions division in the UK and Spain, reporting to Taverner and leading the firm's integration across dentsu's CXM across EMEA. He also oversees the firm's data platforms, data management, and marketing technology capabilities.
