In the US, eCommerce giant Amazon has launched an invite-only panel through which participants can earn monthly rewards by sharing receipts from purchases made outside of Amazon.com, and by completing short surveys.
Through the new Amazon Shopper Panel, panelists can upload ten eligible receipts per month from non-Amazon retailers, by using the panel's app to take pictures of paper receipts, or by forwarding e-mail receipts. Additional rewards can be earned each month for every survey panelists complete, with surveys asking about brands and products that may interest the panelist, and how likely they are to purchase a product; as well as feedback on what the shopper thinks of an ad.
According to the company, panelist participation will help brands offer better products and make ads more relevant on Amazon. Participation is voluntary and panelists can stop using the app, sharing receipts, or answering survey questions at any time. In addition, Amazon says it deletes sensitive information, such as prescription information from drug store receipts, and panelists also have the option to delete previously uploaded receipts at any time.
