Definitive Buys Healthcare Data and Insights Firm Monocl

Healthcare data and intelligence firm Definitive Healthcare has acquired Monocl, which provides medical and scientific expert data and insights. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Monocl helps professionals connect with stakeholders in life science and healthcare to identify and engage the right experts, investigators, digital influencers, healthcare providers, scientists and industry opinion leaders from a pool of millions across the world. From its offices in the US and Sweden, the firm's machine learning-based product suite enables clients to generate insights from those experts, and drive enhanced patient outcomes by accessing data across all therapeutic areas and geographic regions.

Through the transaction, Definitive will expand its own product offerings for life sciences companies, as well as its international presence from North America to Europe and Asia. The deal adds to Definitive's 2019 acquisition of the data services business and assets of HIMSS Analytics, which provides research and consultancy in the sector; having previously acquired Billian's HealthData, which provides data and analytics on US healthcare organizations, and access to more than two million healthcare executives including one million physicians.
