CX Firm Sugar Buys Reseller Partner W-Systems

Customer Experience specialist Sugar CRM has announced the acquisition of its reseller and implementation partner W-Systems, a New Jersey-based provider of CRM and marketing automation solutions.

Sugar gives clients 'time-aware' customer data to achieve a clear view of the customer and enhance business performance. The firm is based in Silicon Valley, backed by Accel-KKR and has more than 4,500 users in over 120 countries.

W-Systems is a division of Gannett's UpCurve, Inc., and has developed add-on services such as document management, calendar enhancements, and integrations for common mapping, file storage and messaging services. These add-ons will enhance its new owner's Sugar Sell and Sugar Market solutions, while W-Systems' sales, customer success and development teams will join Sugar's North American. They include company President Christian Wettre, VP of Sales Dennis Smith and COO Joe Dawe.

Sugar, which in August acquired AI platform Node, says the latest buy expands its ability to meet implementation service demand for its time-aware, AI-powered and CX-focused sales, marketing and service software, at a time when the increase in remote and distributed workforces and reliance on digital channels is driving up demand for simple CRM and marketing automation solutions.
