Launchmetrics Buys Chinese Influencer Platform PARKLU

New York-based fashion, luxury and beauty (FLB) sector marketing and analytics platform Launchmetrics has acquired influencer analytics platform PARKLU, headquartered in Shanghai, for an undisclosed sum.

Kim Leitzes and Alex XuFounded in 2011 by Kim Leitzes (CEO) and Alex Xu (Product Director), PARKLU also specializes in the FLB industry, providing access to more than 100,000 influencers - known locally as Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) - across all China's major social media platforms. Using proprietary data and technology on the firm's relationship management and analytics platform, brands can collaborate with these influencers in one place, track campaigns in real time, benchmark and monitor KOL analytics, obtain social media listening statistics, and receive customized data and reports.

According to Launchmetrics, the deal will expand its own 'Media Impact Value' algorithm to establish a metric that benchmarks brand initiatives in the east and west. Michael Jais, CEO of Launchmetrics, comments: 'PARKLU will add a new layer of apps and data to our Brand Performance Cloud. This acquisition will make us the only player to measure cross-voice performance by providing the industry with a consistent metric to more effectively understand performance in China and beyond'.
