Cisco to Buy Audience Polling Platform Slido

December 9 2020

Tech conglomerate Cisco has acquired Slovakia-based audience interaction company Slido, which provides a Q&A and polling platform for live and virtual meetings and events. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Peter KomornikSlido's technology is used to enhance communication and increases interaction at events and meetings, through crowdsourcing of top questions to drive conversations, and live polls to engage participants and capture event data. Through the platform event organizers can ask participants their opinion and allow them to vote instantly from any device; and group multiple poll questions into a survey to collect responses at any time during or after a session.

Following the acquisition, Slido will become part of the Cisco Webex platform, to help Cisco offer new levels of audience engagement across both in-person and virtual experiences. The deal follows Cisco's recent acquisition of ThousandEyes, whose platform delivers insights into the digital delivery of apps and online services; and last year's takeover of customer experience management (CEM) firm CloudCherry.
