TechTarget Buys to Expand Purchase Data Set

In the US, B2B tech purchase intent data provider TechTarget is to acquire BrightTALK, which provides a platform for webinar hosting and virtual events. The $150m cash deal will help TechTarget expand its own data set.

Michael CotoiaBrightTALK's offerings allow marketers to create webinar and video content, engaging eight million professionals who have registered for the platform and have given their permission to share their information with relevant vendors. TechTarget says the acquisition will 'significantly' expand its own proprietary first-party purchase intent data and its opt-in audience.

It allows us to increase our original content, grow our opt-in audience of registered members, and add a material amount of proprietary first-party purchase intent data. It's a very powerful combination that will enhance our customers' abilities to use our purchase intent data to grow their revenues and increase their market share'.
