Streetbees Hires Hempstead as First North America GM

Mobile-based customer insights firm Streetbees has appointed Sebastian 'Seb' Hempstead as its first General Manager for North America. He is based in New York.

London-based Streetbees, which also has offices in Lisbon, combines artificial intelligence and geolocation technology to collect data from more than 3.5 million users (or 'bees') across 190 countries, who share moments from their daily lives through videos, photos and text using a chat-style app. The company recently raised $40m and a follow-on $6.7m in a Series B round of funding, which it is using to accelerate development of its platform and increase headcount from 100 to 230.

Hempstead (pictured) joins from digital experience platform Episerver, where he served as VP Go-to-Market, prior to which, he was Chief Revenue Officer at content analytics platform idio (acquired by Episerver in 2019). Earlier, he worked for social media analyst Brandwatch as EVP, North America, LATAM & APAC, having begun his career at IBM.
