Global Expansion for Ciao Network

May 12 2004

Ciao AG has announced the expansion of its network of proprietary and partner access panels to cover 7 million survey respondents in 37 countries worldwide. Hungary, Ireland, Switzerland, Canada, New Zealand and Taiwan have been added to the Ciao Global Network, bringing the number of approved local panel providers to twenty-two.

Ciao is a provider of online data collection services which partners with research agencies to technically implement their online surveys and carry out the necessary fieldwork. Its own proprietary panels now cover 800,000 respondents in 7 European countries, while the Global Network adds local agencies with country-specific expertise with whom Ciao collaborates to extend the scope of its online data collection services around the globe.

The Network already includes East European, Scandinavian, South American and Asia Pacific countries. The expansion, part of a drive to provide global coverage, also means the number of panellists available for research projects in the USA has doubled to nearly 2.5 million.

Ciao AG's Managing Director, Gunnar Piening says the expansion 'not only means that clients can execute research projects in all of the world's major regions and markets, but also ensures that high volumes of completed interviews can be obtained even in studies of low-incidence target groups'.

'Whereas in the past, the challenge was to target respondents in different parts of one geographic region, today's market researchers are casting their net over multiple countries and world regions' adds Piening. 'Surveys need to be translated and executed around the world seamlessly and simultaneously, and this is our speciality'.

The company employs over 100 professionals, based at offices in Munich, Paris, Madrid, London and Westport, CT, who between them speak of a total of 30 languages. It is also the current sponsor of DRNO. Ciao's web site is at www.consumer-access.com
