Sandra Stanley named dunnhumby Chief Data Science Officer

In London, Tesco-owned customer data firm dunnhumby has promoted long-time employee Sandra Stanley to the role of Chief Data Science Officer, leading its global team of 500 data scientists.

Sandra StanleyThe company analyses more than 395 million shopper baskets and nine billion data records every week, helping thousands of brands and suppliers in the grocery and drug sectors to understand how each of their individual products is performing with different types of shoppers. Stanley (pictured) joined nearly 22 years ago, and most recently served as Head of Client - Tesco UK, in charge of a team of more than 100 retail consultants, analysts and data scientists who partner with the supermarket to deliver customer insights and customer science.

Earlier, she held roles including Head of Customer Knowledge & Data Science UK&I; Head of Analytics & Data Science for the Tesco Group; and Head of Tesco Clubcard & Marketing for dunnhumby. She joined the firm in 1999 as an Analyst and now takes over from Rex Davis, who has taken the role of SVP, Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance at Royal Bank of Canada.

In her new position, Stanley will lead the Data Science team which spans both Research and Applied Data Science globally.
