Consumer Data Firm Killi Renamed Reklaim

September 13 2021

US-based company Killi has been renamed Reklaim, reflecting the company's goal to provide every consumer on the planet with access to their data.

New name for KilliReklaim offers data to brands and agencies, platforms and data companies, while allowing consumers to opt in to share specific pieces of data with brands in exchange for compensation, and to opt out. Sweeney says the first version of Killi was based on creating a product where consumers needed to add more data to be paid, but his team soon realized this didn't solve the issue of consumer data access. Through Reklaim, consumers can not only access their data, but they can also see how many companies are buying and selling it, and how much their data is sold for annually.

'Consumer awareness over data rights is accelerating with each new data hack, increased antitrust rhetoric, and the general mistrust of big tech by consumers', explains CEO and founder Neil Sweeney. 'Reklaim is the only company in the world today allowing consumers to view, edit and control their data while providing them the optionality of choosing whether they would like to opt out or be compensated for their use of their data'.
