WPP Announces Ad Research Ventures

A number of companies within the WPP Group are combining their expertise to launch a new research and planning consultancy, ForeSite, dedicated to identifying trends and opportunities for the outdoor industry. WPP has also announced two other research-related launches this month.

According to WPP's latest newsletter, Portland Outdoor Advertising is collaborating with sister WPP companies MindShare, Mediaedge:cia's MediaLab division and The Henley Centre to establish the new outdoor specialist., which will be led by Portland's research and marketing director, Andrew Atherton.

In other developments at WPP companies, Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide and the London Business School have announced a multi-year joint research programme backed by the Ogilvy Foundation and focusing on key issues in the advertising industry; and KnowledgeBase Marketing and its partner Mal Dunn have launched a new lifestyle database called the Consumer Passion Index (sm) (CPI), which with a count of 95 million claims to be the largest interest database available.
