Pharma Firms Norstella and Citeline to Merge

June 29 2022

Pharma sector R&D intelligence provider Citeline (formerly Pharma Intelligence) and drug lifecycle specialist Norstella have agreed to merge, to provide life sciences clients with a full suite of commercial clinical solutions. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Mike Gallup and Jay NadlerCiteline (previously owned by Informa) provides data and software for clinical trials, drug and device development and regulatory compliance. As well as clinical research and development intelligence, the firm offers competitive, MedTech and market data and insights. Norstella comprises four pharma solutions providers - Evaluate, MMIT, Panalgo, and The Dedham Group - which focus on supporting life sciences companies at each step of the drug development life cycle.

According to the firms, the combined company will be 'well positioned' to help life sciences companies reach patients faster by providing the intelligence they need - from early clinical development through to commercialization. The merger is expected to close in the second half of 2022.

Norstella CEO Mike Gallup says that bringing clinical and commercial intelligence together, along with real-world data, will help ensure every patient gets the therapy they need. Ramsey Hashem, CEO, and Jay Nadler, Executive Chair, of Citeline, add: 'Ultimately, this marriage of commercial and clinical capabilities will enable the pharmaceutical C-suite to manage portfolio strategy like never before. This includes deciding which drug to bring to market, what new indications to pursue for a drug and how to target patients for clinical trials more quickly and with reduced cost.'
