Research on Mobile to be Acquired by RIWI

Canadian trend tracking and prediction tech firm RIWI has agreed to acquire Paris and Istanbul-based business Research on Mobile (ROM). Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Founded in 2018 to help clients understand how consumers use their mobile phones, ROM focuses on programmatic sampling to provide instant access to deeply profiled data. Using the firm's sample API, clients can link their company to all customer data through their existing project management system or marketplace. This connection provides 24/7 access to ROM's 80-country consumer panel portfolio, with an automated process which reduces manual entry and human errors, while creating a single data source.

In its last fiscal year ending December 31st 2021, ROM's unaudited annual revenues were EUR 1.1m and the firm made EUR 80k net profit. RIWI (Real-time Interactive Worldwide Intelligence) says the deal will enable it to expand into programmatic sampling to supply survey respondents for the research marketplace, while providing support for targeted surveys and message tests across the world. It will also enhance RIWI's survey access into several countries where the firm says it has high demand for customer projects, and allow RIWI to develop new data products.

RIWI CEO Greg Wong says the acquisition will accelerate his firm's growth path through new customers, new product offerings and new, transactional revenues.
