Dentsu to Buy Majority Stake in UX Specialist Extentia

Media and marcoms group Dentsu is to acquire a majority stake in global tech firm Extentia, whose services include user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Michael KomasinskiExtentia's Experience Studio comprises a team of researchers, designers, developers, and artists who help clients develop engaging user experiences for mobile and web apps, and focus on branding and identity design, and business communications design. The firm also helps clients create their own mobile app development strategies, and cloud computing solutions.

As part of the deal, Extentia will join Dentsu's tech-enabled, data-driven customer experience management (CXM) company Merkle. All Extentia nearly 800 staff in Pune and Bengaluru, India, including the leadership team, will transfer to Merkle, and the company will be known as 'Extentia, a Merkle Company'.
