Media and marcoms group Dentsu is to acquire a majority stake in global tech firm Extentia, whose services include user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Extentia's Experience Studio comprises a team of researchers, designers, developers, and artists who help clients develop engaging user experiences for mobile and web apps, and focus on branding and identity design, and business communications design. The firm also helps clients create their own mobile app development strategies, and cloud computing solutions.
As part of the deal, Extentia will join Dentsu's tech-enabled, data-driven customer experience management (CXM) company Merkle. All Extentia nearly 800 staff in Pune and Bengaluru, India, including the leadership team, will transfer to Merkle, and the company will be known as 'Extentia, a Merkle Company'.
Michael Komasinski (pictured), global CEO, Merkle, comments: 'Extentia differentiates itself through a design-first approach to its cloud-native technical and engineering product solutions. This strategic acquisition will allow Merkle and Dentsu to meet the growing market demand to support our clients in driving complex architecture integrations.'
