Teralytics Buys Mobility Data Firm Streetlytics

August 19 2022

Zurich-based mobility analysis platform Teralytics has acquired the Streetlytics mobility data business from location infrastructure software firm Bentley Systems. Bentley is investing in Teralytics, but financial details have not been disclosed.

Michael Clarke and David ReedUS-based Streetlytics delivers mobility analytics for audience measurement across the out-of-home (OOH) ad industry in the US and Canada, while also helping to solve issues around transportation, planning and operations, and real estate. The firm's engine is powered by artificial intelligence and behavioral models, fuelled by multiple data sources including billions of GPS data points from mobile devices and connected cars, demographic and employment data by neighborhood, and observed traffic counts. This engine is used to analyze six types of data: volumes, speeds, origin-destination, home locations, pedestrians and routes.

Its new parent Teralytics also analyzes data from a diverse set of sources, applying data science to create insights into human mobility. As part of the deal, Streetlytics' team of mobility data analytics specialists, led Michael Clarke, will boost Teralytics' capabilities and grow its presence in the North American market.

Clarke has taken the newly created role of President, reporting directly to Teralytics CEO David Reed, who comments: 'The Streetlytics' mission and values align perfectly with ours. Having the team on board will deepen our ability to serve customers across a number of industries through our truly global, independent analytics platform. We are also looking forward to partnering with Bentley, whose global reach opens new opportunities for Teralytics to deliver our insights at scale'.
