Customer Engagement Specialist Nextiva Adds to Board

Scottsdale, Arizona-based productivity and customer engagement software firm Nextiva has today announced that former Zendesk CFO Alan Black and Robert (Bob) Beauchamp, former Chairman and CEO of BMC Software, have joined its Board of Directors.

Nextiva's solutions promise to help sales, service and marketing teams achieve higher productivity and deliver better customer engagement, via a cloud-based platform bringing together business communications, intelligence and automation to help manage customer relations.

Black brings more than 35 years of experience leading both public and private enterprise software companies. He founded Surfspray Capital, LLC in 2017, and has advised more than a dozen companies through it; and before this was CFO of Zendesk; CEO of Intelliden (acquired by IBM in 2010), and CFO of Phone.com, whichwent through IPO in 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Beauchamp has more than 30 years' experience in enterprise software, and more than twenty as a Board member of large and small companies across multiple industries. Most recently he was Chairman of BMC Software, after serving as its CEO for more than sixteen years. He served on the boards of two Fortune 500 companies, Raytheon and National Oilwell Varco, as well as a number of other public and private companies and not-for-profit organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Science in Management from Houston Baptist University.
