Google Surveys Shelved

Google has announced that its Surveys and Surveys 360 solutions will no longer be available after November 1st, as it believes in their current form they are no longer the best way to help businesses of all sizes run custom market research.

Soon to be History: Google SurveysLaunched a decade ago, the product (previously known as Google Consumer Surveys) provides a web interface through which to design surveys, and access to a pool of respondents, targeted by gender, age group and geographic regions. Users currently create their own questionnaires through the product, and then pay per response.

Google says any surveys still active at the beginning of November will field responses until completion, where possible, and users will be able to download historical data until the beginning of December. Despite the shutdown, the Google Opinion Rewards program will continue to run, allowing users to answer surveys in return for rewards. Google says it is committed to measuring consumer insights at scale and the Google Opinion Rewards App is a critical part of this.

Google has told users it has 'other plans' for surveys, explaining: 'The Surveys team will be working to find new ways to bring the scale and insights of our research network to customers via Google Ads products for advertiser, customer, and market research'.
