Promotions and Hire for Research Defender

February 6 2023

In the US, data quality and anti-fraud software platform Research Defender has promoted Teal Canady to Vice President of Technology, and Dan Fletcher to Vice President of Operations. The company has also appointed Josh Roberts as an Operations Analyst.

Teal Canady, Dan Fletcher and Josh RobertsFounded in 2018 by Lucid's former Chief of Staff Vignesh Krishnan, and originally known as SampleChain, Research Defender builds technology used across sampling and MR, including tools for matching respondents to relevant surveys and to prevent sample fraud and duplication. The firm neither owns nor operates a respondent panel or exchange, and it does not sell any sample or conduct research: instead focusing on the facilitation of transactions across the online research ecosystem.

Canady joined the firm in 2019, and earlier spent time at ISA, LRW, OTX and as Principal Data Engineer at Lucid. Fletcher joined in 2020, after more than seven years in customer-facing and operations roles at Lucid: he is now responsible for all aspects of project management, integration and finances. Roberts has just completed his MBA from Louisiana State University with a certificate in data analytics, and most recently worked as an Analyst at a non-profit serving those with mental illness.

Commenting on the news, Krishnan said: 'Continuing on our mission to provide the best technology in the industry to combat fraudulent respondents and responses in online research, it starts with the best people and these promotions and new hire are just the next step in our growth'.
