Funds for Experience Testing Firm HeadSpin

Data science and real-world testing provider HeadSpin has announced a strategic investment from Atlassian Ventures. Funds will drive its development of tools for DevOps teams, as well as 'synthetic observability' features, promising clients faster time to market and better product quality.

HeadSpin's platform allows companies to hone their digital software experiences on devices from mobile phones and desktop browsers to media players, audio devices and automotive systems. The platform uses a combination of manual and automated tests collecting more than 100 key performance indicators: these include number of launches, application usage duration, number of downloads, user retention, active users, and impact time. The firm's Impact Score is used as a benchmark for measuring user experience across mobile apps, and is based on analysis of key mobile app experience data points including screen change, page content score and video quality.

Following the investment, HeadSpin will focus on providing site reliability engineering (SRE) and DevOps teams with in-depth analysis of performance issues for their mobile apps.
