In the US, media intelligence specialist Cision has promoted Antony Cousins to the newly created role of Executive Director of AI Strategy.
Cision offers software which allows users to identify key influencers, develop and distribute content, and measure campaign impact. In 2020, the company was acquired by an affiliate of global investment firm Platinum Equity.
Cousins (pictured) joined late last year as Director of Product Development, through Cision's acquisition of social media and news media monitoring and analytics product Factmata, where he had served as CEO. Before this he was CEO of Content Score, Director of Operations at Talent Clouds, and he worked at AI startup ProFinda. In addition, he was recently appointed co-Chair of the Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communications tech hub.
In his new role, Cousins will be responsible for advancing Cision's AI strategy, including integrating Factmata's technology, which uses AI to monitor and detect 'harmful narratives' online and combat misinformation. He will also be responsible for ensuring all the firm's tools are compliant with regulatory frameworks in the US, UK, Europe and beyond.
