Jackling Quits Chair

October 22 2004

BMRA Chairman and IDA Managing Director Peter Jackling is running his first ('and only') marathon in Dublin on Monday. Sponsorship money raised will go to the industry's own Market Research Benevolent Association.

After 5 months of hard training, Peter is in fine shape as shown in the picture. However, asked for a comment he was unable to manage anything coherent.

The 2004 Dublin Marathon, on Monday 25th October (a public holiday in Ireland) is the 25th running of this event, and has attracted a record entrance of over 10,000 marathon runners. Known as 'The Friendly Marathon', because of the exceptional support given by residents, the race goes through the Georgian streets of Ireland's capital.

To join DRNO in sponsoring Peter, contact him at peter.jackling@ida.co.uk , or send cheques made out to MRBA by post to him at IDA (Independent Data Analysis Limited, 33 Welbeck Street, London W1M 8LX). We wish him luck!

The Market Research Benevolent Association exists to help those who work or have worked in market research in any capacity, whether as researchers, interviewers, or office staff, as employees or independents, and whether members of The Market Research Society or not. Beneficiaries include those who are sick, have been bereaved, have met with an accident or who have suffered misfortune in any other way. The MRBA may give an outright grant or make a loan, and can sometimes supplement an applicant's income for a period of time.
