Maru Expertise Feeds New Harris Poll Tools

Corrected: Contrary to initial statements by their agents, marcoms network Stagwell has not merged its experience and insights platform Maru into the Harris Poll. The two sister firms are merely collaborating on new tools which will go to market under The Harris Poll brand.

The Harris brand and Harris Poll were among assets acquired by Stagwell from Nielsen in 2017. The Harris Poll was established in 1963 to measure public opinion in the US, and now offers global public opinion, analytics and MR consultancy. In addition, Harris provides a monthly voter sentiment advisory and weekly monitoring of America's socio-economic attitudes, and it recently launched a Risk and Reputation unit with other Stagwell companies.

Late last year, Stagwell bought Maru Group, and added it to the Stagwell Marketing Cloud. Maru's HUB offers a scalable survey platform that allows in-house marketers to analyze behavioral, transactional and attitudinal data all in one place.

As of 29th August, Stagwell has clarified the details following initial comments about 'merger' and 'acquisition', and states: 'The two firms are collaborating on c-suite advisory and market research tools, which will go to market under The Harris Poll brand. Maru remains in the Stagwell Marketing Cloud'.

Co-CEO Will Johnson says of the collaboration: 'These tools dramatically give marketers of any size enterprise-grade research at a fraction of the cost.
