EthOS Adds Screen-Recording Tool

September 5 2023

US-based qualitative and rapid research software developer EthOS has added a screen-recording tool, backed up with features including verbal commentary by subjects; automated transcriptions; and AI-powered analysis.

Paul ChestermanThe firm was launched in 2011 by ethnographer Siamack Salari, and provides an app with a suite of tools for end-to-end research including recruitment, data collection, project management and generative AI-based analytics.

The new tool is designed for UX, CX and consumer insights teams, and allows users to verbalize their thoughts as they navigate sites, test concepts and complete tasks - commentary accompanies video of on-screen interactions. The package converts both of these into text in real-time, while the AI-powered analysis identifies and flags up 'pivotal user actions and pain points'. It allows for the setting of tasks for participants and the pre-setting of logic-based questions, ie depending on the route users take; as well as iterative concept testing.

Combined with the core EthOS app, the tool promises 'a journey mapping powerhouse... ensuring every touchpoint, physical or digital, is mapped and analyzed'.

Sales Director Paul Chesterman comments: 'Today's customer journeys are intricate mosaics of touchpoints across online and offline channels. Our solution, especially when paired with the EthOS app, unravels this complexity, bestowing businesses with a panoramic understanding'.
