Ipsos Hires for Top Comms and Healthcare Roles

Ipsos has appointed former Bureau Veritas Director Caroline Ponsi Khider as Chief Communications and Brand Officer; and Dr Bonnie Bain as Global Head of Healthcare. Bain replaces Michael Spedding, who retires at the end of the year.

Caroline Ponsi Khider and Bonnie BainPonsi Khider (pictured above), who becomes part of the Global Management Committee and reports to CEO Ben Page, has worked as Global Communications & Brand Director at testing, inspecting and certification company Bureau Veritas since 2019, helping to strengthen the group's thought leadership, reputation and brand awareness. Before this she was Communications Director at Segula Technologies, and earlier she rose to the same role at Technicolor, having joined the latter as PR & Communications Manager. She began her career at Questel, before moving to the Press Office at France Telecom / Orange. She holds a Master in Communications from ISCOM Paris.

Bain (pictured below) brings more than two decades of healthcare sector experience to the role, from both client and agency sides. Most recently she was Global Head of Pharma and EVP of Healthcare Operations & Strategy at London-based analytics and consulting firm GlobalData Plc. During her tenure of this role the firm launched a number of premium syndicated, multi-client and custom offerings in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, and she also served as executive sponsor for its Employee Resource Group on Race and Ethnicity.

She worked earlier at Informa, where she was Vice President and Global Research & Analysis Director for the Pharma Division, co-leading the integration of Datamonitor Healthcare into the group's Pharma Intelligence business and revamping / extending its portfolio. She holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Purdue University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Molecular Pharmacology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Spedding was CEO of Healthcare at Synovate and then returned as its 'CEO Geographies' after a brief spell running his own firm. When Synovate merged into Ipsos in 2012 he became the latter's CEO of Healthcare.
