Infillion Talks Up MediaMath as Buy Completes

September 18 2023

Infillion, the ad tech company which acquired global MR company Phonic earlier this year, has announced the completion of its acquisition of the assets of MediaMath, and given an upbeat assessment of the worth and future potential of those assets.

Rob EmrichInfillion offers an advanced media buying platform, alongside measurement solutions. The firm was formed in 2022, and grew out of the purchase of Disney's video ad tech unit TrueX by location-based targeting specialist Gimbal, two years earlier. Its offer also includes ad tech products NeXt and InStadium, and martech solutions Analytiks.ai and Phonic.ai.

Last month Infillion founder and Executive Chairman Rob Emrich (pictured) hinted that his firm would aim to restore much of MediaMath's business, growing it back to 155 people within three years. This week he added: 'We believe the strategic value of MediaMath's global distribution throughout the modern adtech landscape has been underappreciated and was far too important to disappear. Contrary to the prevailing narrative, MediaMath had a strong business with very loyal customers. In 2022, MediaMath had over $500m of Gross Ad Spend, over $100m of Net Revenue and was EBITDA positive. The company filed for bankruptcy not because of issues with its technology or its core business, but because its debt load eventually became too large to service. Infillion has a strong balance sheet, with differentiated products that, when integrated within the broader MediaMath ecosystem, can drive real value for our customers. The combined company has a very compelling value proposition, and we expect to see significant revenue synergies and growth as we integrate our platforms'.

Infillion - web site at www.infillion.com - is inviting former employees, clients, and partners of MediaMath to reach out to the company directly at mediamath@infillion.com .
