October 10 2023

Eye tracking hardware and software specialist Tobii has launched a product called UX Explore, allowing researchers to conduct eye tracking and attention measurement studies and tests at scale via mobile phones.

Mobile-based launch for TobiiTobii says the new software-based platform uses deep learning eye tracking algorithms and will be 'a game-changer for designers and developers seeking cost-effective access to eye tracking UX research to improve the usability of their apps in an early stage of the design process and deliver higher customer value'.

Ali Farokhian, VP of Enterprise, says historically eye tracking for UX has been limited to 'well-funded organizations', but is now 'accessible and scalable' thanks to UX Explore. He adds: 'We are confident that clients will also recognize the value our new product brings, enhancing their team's efficiency with instant data visualization upon study completion'.

Tobii has been working on mobile-based eye tracking systems for at least a dozen years: in 2011 it launched what it described as the first testing solution to be specifically designed for usability studies on mobile devices and mobile applications.

The firm is headquartered in Sweden and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, with a web site at www.tobii.com .
