Scenera Acquisition Boosts Real-Time Video Analysis

Palo Alto, CA-based data management company Scenera has agreed to acquire Korean firm TNM AI Co. Ltd., a long-term partner, for an undisclosed amount.

Scenera is developing a data platform for the 'AIoT' industry which understands and groups video to move from simple / continuous streaming data to rich, scene-by-scene information. Seoul-based TnM AI offers services including software development, tailored AI integration and an extensible camera-based AI system which analyzes real-time streaming video. Clients are in a range of sectors including retail, commercial real estate properties, power and manufacturing.

The deal will consolidate the two firms' resources to enhance product development. As collaborators the companies have built a standard data processing platform for existing AIoT devices and IP cameras, for use in smart buildings and retail industries, centralizing data management and analysis to assist building owners, facility managers and occupants. The firms say the transaction will help expand target markets and will see the integration of TnM AI's energy management system (REMS) into Scenera's MAIstro brand and offered globally.
