CivicScience Gen AI Tool Focuses on Trust

November 28 2023

Real-time consumer insights provider CivicScience has launched a tool called Sage, which it says will tackle concerns relating to trust in generative AI and deliver a 'reliable ally' for companies seeking actionable insights from data.

John DickThe company says the combination of generative AI and live statistical analyses marks a move towards unlocking the potential of data in the business landscape; but acknowledges growing concern about AI's reliability, particularly with large language models (LLMs) like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard.

Sage AI users can pose questions in plain English, receiving responses with detailed citations linking back to source data in CivicScience's InsightStore. Additionally, a downloadable spreadsheet with expanded underlying data is provided, ensuring transparency and reliability. Each AI-generated response is evaluated and scored for veracity, providing an extra layer of assurance. The firm conducts live statistical analyses on a database comprising nearly 600,000 poll questions and five billion responses from millions of American consumers.

John Dick (pictured), CivicScience's founder and CEO, says that GenAI powered by Sage will liberate data-driven companies from the burdensome task of processing data, enabling them to focus on the 'why' behind insights, because the system ensures every number is tied back to trusted data, instilling confidence in its users.
