Mediametrie to Track Cross-Screen and OOH Viewing

January 4 2024

French TV measurement company Médiamétrie has expanded its services to measure viewing across four screens as well as Out-of-Home, as of this month.

Laurence DeléchaptFrom 1st January Médiamétrie's Médiamat panel has been enhanced to measure viewing on computer, mobile phone and tablet, as well as TVs, inside and outside the home.

The Médiamat Panel is made up of around 5,000 households with televisions, each connected to an audience meter; and now 500 without a television set - around 12,000 individuals in all. The firm adds another component, the Individual Audience Reach Panel, with about 5,000 individuals, in order to measure OOH audiences and TV audiences on Internet screens at home.

The company says the combined system will represent viewing for all of France's 62.4m people aged 4 and over. Later in 2024 it plans to add ratings for streaming services including Netflix and Prime, as well as YouTube and other online platforms.

Quoted on www.advanced-television.com , Mediamétrie's Directrice TV & Cross Médias de Médiamétrie Laurence Deléchapt said: 'With more households and screens measured, there will naturally be more TV viewers and contacts with the TV media. Médiamétrie thus guarantees the market and its clients - television channels, advertising agencies, advertisers - a measurement that is increasingly comprehensive to closely manage their editorial content and advertising strategies'.

The firm is online at www.mediametrie.fr .
