Change at the Top for Alida

January 9 2024

Community-centered CX and insights firm Alida has a new CEO: Efrem Ainsley is promoted from COO to succeed Ross Wainwright, who recently stepped down from the role.

Efrem AinsleyAinsley joined the company around four years ago as CFO, and has more than twenty years' experience in software roles. Prior to joining he was Chief Executive of content marketing firm ScribbleLive, acquired by Rock Content in late 2019; and before that CFO and COO for Exinda and PlateSpin. Earlier he served as VP of Finance with major Canadian software player Open Text Corporation.

Toronto-based Alida launched what it described as the 'world's first' combined CXM and insights platform three years ago. Fund-raising since then has included a $60m loan just over a year ago, and last year it added Verve and Discuss to a long list of partners across the world. This year the firm says it plans to scale its offer helping clients improve their product innovation and user experience processes via listening to end users.

Wainwright has held the CEO role for some four years, overseeing its move into the CX space and a period of consistent year-on-year growth despite challenging conditions. He comments: 'I am thankful to our incredible team and all their hard work throughout the years and will look forward to supporting a smooth transition as Efrem takes the helm. I will continue to be an evangelist, investor, shareholder and enduring supporter of Alida'.

Board Chairman Phil Deck adds: 'We thank Ross for his leadership during an exciting era for the company and have tremendous confidence in Efrem as he takes the reins at this important time in Alida's history. The Board is excited about the 2024 strategic plan with an emphasis on innovation, vertical-focused growth, and the continued delivery of exceptional value for its customers'.
