Lightspeed Appoints Marketing Head

Julian Price, until recently a Divisional Director at Claritas / Acxiom, has joined Lightspeed Research as Senior VP of Marketing and Product Development, to lead the company's product development and marketing on a global basis, including expansion into new countries.

Price, who will be based in the London office, has nearly 20 years' experience in business and consumer marketing services and product development, most recently as a CRM consultant helping with consumer database mining. Prior to this, he spent seven years with Claritas Europe (now Acxiom), latterly as Divisional Director of their Partnerships Programme. He began his career with twelve years in the FMCG industry, in a number of senior marketing and sales roles including spells at Allied Bakeries (ABF), Anchor Foods (NZ Dairy Board) and Campbell's UK (Campbell Soup Company).

Lightspeed President and CEO Anne Hedde says she is confident in his ability to manage and promote the corporate brand. 'I welcome his expertise toward leading the development of new products and services that will be required to support our aggressive 2005 growth plans across the globe'.

Price has a BA (hons) degree in Marketing and Business from Hull University and a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Diploma.
