February 13 2024

UK-based agency davies+mckerr has appointed former Crowd DNA Director David Power as Head of Quant.

David PowerFull service insights agency davies+mckerr was founded in 2005 by planning specialists Andy Davies and Roger McKerr, and now employs a team of 25. The company has been employee-owned since last year.

He joined the company in the second half of 2019, at which time its 'Numbers' quant team consisted of four full-time members, and four years later had helped grow this to seventeen quant specialists across international offices, with both revenue and profits increased sevenfold. His work has spanned categories from gaming segmentations and social media thought leadership to branding and strategy in apparel. Earlier he spent three years at RDSi, before which he was Group Senior Insight Manager at Hachette, and before that he worked for media company Future Publishing, having begun his career at McCallum Layton.

Shaun Barton and Tom Anderson, joint Managing Partners said in a statement: 'd+m has always had quant capabilities, but we really committed to growing that side of the business in 2020. We have a brilliant quant team who help our stellar clients sharpen their edge, now with Dave joining we're looking to kick on in this next chapter of growth.

'We were immediately impressed with Dave's ambition and excited that we share the same ethos: that research buyers need more than validation to stay ahead in today's world- they need strategic inspiration. We can't wait to get going'.
