Multiple Promotions for 2CV

UK-based consumer and B2B researcher 2CV has announced eleven promotions, including Chris Oatey and Jon Smetherham to Regional Directors, responsible for leading the Asia team based in Singapore; and in the UK Kar Hoo Lee to Associate Director of Data Services and Abigail Plank to Associate Director.

Above: Oatey - Smetherham; below: Lee - PlankHeadquartered in London, with offices in LA, San Francisco and Singapore, the company is part of marketing strategy, insights and comms specialist Digital Technology Advisory Group (DTAG), now owned by private equity firm Vespa Capital. Last month it promoted Sabine Cronick to the role of CEO of UK/EU, and James Redden to CEO of US and APAC.

Oatey (pictured above left) has been with the company for five and a half years, originally as an AD and then a Research Director - earlier he worked at Vivid Interface and then in strategy roles at Hall & Partners. Smetherham (above right) began his career as a researcher with the UK's civil service, then worked at Engine, Future Thinking and Blackbox Research before joining 2CV in August 2022.

Lee (below left) has worked at 2CV for five years, most recently as a Lead Consultant, with a focus on implementing Python scripts, and earlier in programming and data roles at ICM Direct, Research Now and Markettiers4dc. Plank (below right), who is promoted in recognition of her work in the social research team, worked briefly at M&C Saatchi before joining 2CV as a Digital Research Executive in January 2017, since when she has risen through the ranks, focusing initially on qual digital methods including online communities and auto-ethnography.
