Moorthy, Riggs Acquired by Informa

January 20 2005

Informa Research Services in the USA has this week announced the acquisition of Moorthy, Riggs and Associates, Inc., a specialist in research and information services for the financial sector.

According to Informa's P resident and MD Michael Adler, 'Over their 17-year history, Moorthy and Riggs has developed a solid client base and valuable experience in their area of research. We are thrilled that we can combine their expertise with Informa's advanced research, reporting, and delivery systems. It is a win - win situation for all parties involved'.

Founded in 1988 and headquartered in San Francisco, California, Moorthy, Riggs and Associates serves the financial industry by providing fee and feature research and ad-hoc studies.

Sophia Moorthy of Moorthy, Riggs and Associates says that while most of her company's clients currently receive data on a 'semi-annual basis', Informa's 'Informagic' product will provide real-time access to its vast database of information. Informagic is an online interactive data analysis system that allows clients to gain instant access to local, regional, and national competitive data and customise analysis and reporting.

The acquisition follows that of Barry Leeds & Associates in 2003 and Market Trends in 2004, and Adler says Informa is 'just getting started. It is my goal to continue to assemble a team of really smart, hardworking, energetic people to make Informa Research Services the place where companies go for all of their competitive intelligence needs'.
