Canva provides AI-powered tools for creating content, including options for a template-based or conversation-driven process. MagicBrief was founded in 2022 by George Howes and Dan Nolan, and allows marketers to develop and test ideas, iterating design based on data about what's working and what isn't. The firm will continue to operate under its own name, for the near future, while its tech is integrated into Canva's Visual Suite.
MagicBrief's staff of ten, based mostly in Sydney, will join Canva, with co-founder and CEO Howes taking a new leadership role working on a suite of tools to help brands grow through effective, AI-powered creative. Canva says the acquired firm's technology 'strengthens key areas we've been investing in for many years and will supercharge our next wave of products for today's marketing and creative teams.'
