Headquartered in San Francisco, Metaforms was founded in 2022 by Akshat Tyagi and Arjun S, and launched commercially at the start of this year. The firm aims to help research agencies meet client demands by shortening turnaround times and reducing operational costs. Its AI agents are designed to work within agencies' existing workflows, automating manual processes including survey code generation, flagging bad data, co-ordinating panel vendors and tracking quotas across complex studies. In April, the firm appointed former Fuel Cycle and FocusVision exec Jonathan Tice as a Strategic Advisor.
The company's plans including tripling the size of its team and expanding the breadth of its agent capabilities to areas including voice research, automated report generation, and expanded language support. It will also aim in the shorter term to deepen integrations with tools including Decipher, SPSS and Confirmit.
The round was led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia India), with participation from Nexus Venture Partners and Together Fund, and adds to around $1m raised earlier.
CEO Tyagi (pictured) comments: 'Our goal is simple: help great research teams spend less time firefighting and more time doing the work that actually matters. When you automate the grunt work, you make high-quality research more accessible to more companies.'
