In the US, UserTesting has launched UserTesting Verified, an advanced participant verification system which combines machine learning and geolocation technology, to detect and block fraudulent research participants.UserTesting's solutions provide clients with direct input from customers, before launch and throughout the lifetime of products and services. Its offer includes research and consulting services, a proprietary QX Score benchmarking methodology, an experience insights hub, a proprietary contributor network, and AI and ML-driven experience insights software. The firm is a portfolio company of investor Thoma Bravo, which merged it with UX specialist UserZoom in 2023, and which is also the owner of Medallia and J.D. Power.
Verified features a two-layer system. A purpose-built AI engine is used to identify and block fraudulent activity with greater accuracy, leading to a 40% improvement in detection of VPN usage. It also identifies fraudulent patterns and flags suspicious activity for the second layer - human review by the firm's expert panel operations team.
The system conducts checks both before and during research, offering consistency and reliability across all test types, and contributing to an industry-leading moderated session no-show rate of only 4.1%, according to the firm.
The release builds on UserTesting's recent LinkedIn integration, which supports professional profile validation, as well as its longstanding commitment to security and privacy, as seen in its ISO 27001 and 27701 certifications, SOC 2 Type II, and industry-specific compliance.
Baran Erkel (pictured), Chief Strategy Officer, comments: 'As organizations embed human insights deeper into product development, marketing, and the customer journey, they need to know the data is sound. We're delivering smarter, more proactive protections that uphold the quality our customers rely on.'
